The other day I was sitting around bored and I started thinking about what I used to do back in the day to fill up my hours of boredom… I soon realized that all used to do when I was younger was watch t.v. (which I still do) listen to music (which I still do) and play videogames (which I stopped doing a few years ago).
I was trying to figure out why I stopped obsessing over video games which I remember used to take up hours and hours of my time. Then I relaized that all these new fangled sytems and game consoles are bogus and every time I try and get involved with a new game it gets way to time consuming.
So I stopped buying into the hype and broke out my orginal 8 bit Nintendo (NES) and 16 bit Super Nintendo (SNES). I started playing thorugh all my old games and soon became obssesed once again with Contra III: The Alien Wars (SNES). After totally dominating the game several times, my thirst for some Contra action was still not quenched. However Contra III was the only game in the series that I owned (pathetic I know). So I went about trying to track down Contra (NES) and Super C (NES). I soon discoverd that since 1987 and 88 that both games have become rather coveted and rare to find.
I finally found some used copies on www.amazon.com . Contra was $20.00 and Super C was $13.00 which seemed kinda pricey for a couple of busted ass used NES games but I was obssesed so I forked out the $33.00 and waited patiently for a week for them to arrive.
Once they arrived. I broke em out, started playing and soon realized that these games are way to hard to play without using the old school cheat codes (Contra: U,U,D,D,L,R,L,R,B,A, Start = 30 lives & Super C: R,L,D,U,A.B,Start = 10 Lives). Once I used the cheat codes I started tearing through levels and conquering both games left and right. All with out spending days and weeks trying to beat the games (average Contra beat down 35 to 45 minutes).
So long story short, brush off all the hootin’ and hollerin’ going on with with all the new flashy souless video games. Get vintage with your NES, SNES and some bad ass Contra games. Goodtimes!!

There are so many cameras out there to pick from and I’ve purchased a decent amount of them. I think I have 7 cameras so far. But now, I may have found my 8th.
I’m always too scared to bring any of my “nicer” cameras anywhere I may consume tasty adult beverages, so its great to have something small that I can easily tote around. Years ago, I bought a small Casio point-and-shoot to throw into my pocket so I can easily snap drunken photos and not worry about it TOO much. This was back when 3MP was sick. That camera has seen its fair share of use and may need to take a step down the photo food chain.
So, I’ve kinda been keeping my eye out for a new camera. Its definitely not something I need; its definitely something I want. I don’t care too much about brand names, but have found myself in the Nikon family the last couple years. And now, Nikon has a new point-and-shoot thats pretty sweet. The Coolpix S60.
Some quick highlights:
- 10 MP
- 5X Optical Zoom
- VR Image Stabilization
- ISO 64-3200
- But the coolest feature is the 3.5 Inch Touchscreen Display
Almost everything on this camera is controlled through this touchscreen. There are only two buttons - the shutter and the power. You do everything else on the screen. This might be a little weird at first but it looks like a pretty cool toy. I may have to make a new purchase and upgrade my point-and-shoot.
Check out all the features/specs/etc. HERE

With the rising gas prices, it was only inevitable the inventions for gas efficient transportation would start rolling out. Well there’s the motorcycle, or otherwise known as motorized bicycle, and then there’s the scooter. What’s left to invent… how about a motorized unicycle or Unocycle as it’s called it?

Built by 18-year-old Ben J. Poss Gulak, he explains how it operates. “Operation of the 54.4 kg (120 lb) machine is simple, in fact it’s so simple there are no controls except for an on-off switch. To go forward you simply push your body weight forward to tilt the machine. To back up, just lean back on the seat to tilt it backwards and back it goes. The farther you lean, the faster it accelerates. The gyro tells the ECU how much to accelerate and that in turn delivers the proper amount of current to the electric motors, one for each wheel.”
Think Segway… and yes you look just as goofy on this as a Segway.

Yeah, so you may have heard about the new iPhone coming out today. Fanboys worldwide are twitching with giddy delight.
The announcement of the latest iPhone, of course, brings out the nutjobs who love to wait in line. Waiting in line? For a phone? Really?? (I’m sure 75% of these people camped out for Star Wars too). Please, please, please let the new iPhone come with an app called ‘Sterilization’. It’s easy - just set the phone to ‘Sterilize Mode’ and put it in your pocket. Works great!
If you wait in line for something for more than 7 minutes, whatever you are waiting for better be pretty freakin’ amazing. If you CAMP OUT in a tent, sleeping bag, lounge chair, etc. you’re an idiot.
But you say “Hey! But its an iPhone!” That’s great. I understand that its an incredible device that has taken phones to the next level. It’s not perfect, but it’s close. Still no shooting video, for example. Little problem, I know. There are others, but overall, this phone looks pretty damn sweet.
When it comes to it, I’m sure I will end up getting one, eventually. Just don’t expect to see me waiting in line anytime soon, D-Bags.
