An Artist You Need to Know…

Friday, August 1st, 2008

There are lots of cool bands that we are introduced to here at LEB. Want to know where these cool bands get their cool artwork created? Well, one incredible artist who does a TON of music-related design is K3n Adams.

You have probably seen his art somewhere, but you just didn’t know it. He’s an artist from Delaware (near the screen door factory) that does all kinds of work - CD’s, apparel, web design, print, skateboards, etc. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to work with K3n on countless projects and the dude just kicks ass.

His art is the in-your-face design that overwhelms you with eye candy and a kick to the head. His attention to detail is spectacular - I’m always finding subtle little things that he has added to different pieces, which take the art from good to great.

If you’re in a band or just need some design for a project at your job, K3n is your guy. Go check out his stuff here WWW.K3N.COM

Cool Shoes, Cool Cause

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Looking for some new Chuck’s? Want to contribute to a great cause? Then do your next sneaker shopping through The Converse 1HUND(RED) imitative, which celebrates the brand’s 100th anniversary, as well as their partnership with (RED). (A partnership project with retailers to help save the lives of people suffering with AIDS/HIV in Africa) http://joinred.com/products/converse/

For 1HUND(RED), Converse commissioned 100 graphic and graffiti artists and musicians to design an exclusive sneaker inspired by the global fight against AIDS/HIV in Africa. The results are 100 cool, stylish, one-of-kind sneakers.

In addition to these killer artist designs, Converse also offers a way for consumers to design their own sneaker. The Make Mine Red design experience allows you to use custom colors and patterns to create a Chuck Taylor that is perfectly tailored to your taste.

The best part of all? 5-15% of sales of PRODUCT (RED) Converse shoes will go towards the fund to fight AIDS/HIV in Africa.

Here’s the link to the pair that I’m getting once they come out this fall:

Reverse Graffiti

Friday, July 18th, 2008

We always hear about the problems associated with graffiti. There’s a lot of good and bad out there. I recently came across one of the good ones.

Paul “Moose” Curtis is an artist with a brilliant idea when it comes to graffiti. He does something called “Reverse Graffiti”. The idea is simple - create art by cleaning.

I can go into it, but you should check out this video.

Don’t forget to click through to youtube to see more videos from this guy. Thanks.
